Celebrate Vendors Day on 20 January, 2013

Demand Inclusive Central Law and Municipal Reform

NASVI wishes all its members, supporters and sympathizers A Very Happy and Promising New Year 2013.

2012 has passed giving us several opportunities to build on our struggles to get central law enacted in favour of street vendors. For NASVI, 2012 was full of activities and campaigns. It all helped in center staging the agenda of central law. The national convention, street food festival and AGM held in Delhi in December, 2012 concluded successfully. The Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Ajay Maken inaugurated the national convention and announced that bringing a strong and effective central law in favour of street vendors was one of top priorities of the Government of India.

NASVI calls upon all its members to keep the momentum on to ensure that an inclusive and effective central law is enacted by the Parliament in its coming session.

The Vendors’ Day… 20 January, 2013… is an important occasion to further raise the issue.

Let us celebrate the Vendors Day demanding

Enact Inclusive and Effective Central Law

Bring Municipal Reform

Give Licenses to All Street Vendors

End Loot and Terror of Municipal Bodies and Police
