Arbind Singh
National Coordinator
Mr Arbind Singh is a Social Entrepreneur and Activist working with informal workers in India. A Master degree holder from Delhi School of Economics, Mr Arbind Singh always had a passion to work for the unorganized sectors of India and he initiated the same in his home state Bihar. Mr Arbind Singh initiated the National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) in 1998. Under the sheer leadership of Mr Arbind Singh NASVI has been intensely working for the promotion and protection of the interest of the street vendors from across the country. It was with NASVI’s unrelenting efforts along with other interventions that the central law for street vendors was enacted by the government in the year 2014.

Sangeeta Singh
Head, Street Food Program
Ms Sangeeta Singh joined NASVI in 2002. As the head of the NASVI Street Food Program, she has the overall responsibility of managing and facilitating street food vendor issues; facilitating registration of food vendors under FSA 2006; taking up health and hygiene-related issues both at the grassroots and with policymakers and regulators. Ensuring training to street food vendors on food handling and hygiene maintenance as well as organizing street food festivals on national and international platforms to showcase gastronomic varieties of street food in India is a major task of her job profile. Ms Singh is also responsible for advocacy with stakeholders for the implementation of laws and policies and branding street food.

Athira Rana
Outreach and Partnership Manager
Athira Rana holds the post of Outreach and Partnership Manager at NIDAN. She is responsible for managing and developing funds as well as curation of reports and projects for the organization. She is a postgraduate in Humanities from Delhi University, North Campus. Athira believes there is no limit to gathering knowledge and is currently pursuing her second Master’s degree in Social Work from Indira Gandhi National Open University in order to learn more about the social sector while working in it. Athira has proven experience in content curation and administration. She worked with ODEPC Ltd. (A Govt. of Kerala Undertaking under the Labour Ministry) as the Centre Admin at its Delhi Branch for more than two and a half years. There, she was working closely with the Head office in the implementation of programs and training along with liaison with foreign immigration departments.

Shyam Shankar Deepak
Program Manager, Patna, Bihar
Shyam Shankar Deepak has been working in NASVI. Shyam Shanker Deepak completed MBA from Uttar Pradesh technical university. Shyam Shankar Deepak, Program Manager His Responsibility: Promote formation of street vendors Federations in Bihar, Facilitate the process of registration of the town and state level Federations under a suitable Act/legal instrument, Nurture leadership abilities in the Federations, Develop financial and administrative systems within the Federations, Nurture the Federations to act as umbrella organizations for street vendors to leverage funds for income generation, Analysis of Existing Condition of Street vending in the city from the available data, Data organization/ data sorting, Data analysis using statistical and graphical representation techniques, Segregation of vendors by type of products, Preparation of report, Meeting with TVC and other stakeholders.

Rajesh
Advocacy manager
Rajesh is our Advocacy Manager. He studied Development Communication at AKJMCRC-Jamia Millia Islamia. He has around 13 years of experience working with marginalized communities. He has managed a variety of programs and interventions on various issues, i.e. mainly digital inclusion, Dalit and Adivasi economic rights, rights of students from Dalit and Adivasi communities, issues of the homeless, street vendors, unorganized workers, Cadre Building, socio-economic empowerment of women, inclusion in disaster risk reduction and policy advocacy for inclusive disaster management. His key skills are community mobilization, network building, advocacy with constitutional bodies, action-based research, cadre building, preparation of short films, campaign materials, radio programming, etc. Before joining NASVI, he worked with Digital Empowerment Foundation, Center for Financial Accountability, YUVA, UNDP-Nepal, NCDHR, and JUDAV Jharkhand.

Lakshay Sajwan
Social Media Coordinator
Lakshay Sajwan is the Social Media Manager at NASVI. He is responsible for creating and publishing content on all social media platforms and overseeing the organization's interactions with the public by implementing social media platforms' content strategies. Her duties include analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in customer interactions, and planning digital campaigns to build community online.

CITY COORDINATORS

Rajeev Kumar
City Manager, Bhagalpur, Bihar
Rajeev Kumar has been working with NASVI as City Manager. Rajeev holds a Master’s degree from Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga. His responsibility: Facilitate in organising and Mobilising street vendors into market committees, City level federation and then cooperative, Responsibility to implement SV Act 2014 and Rules 2017 in their Municipal Area. Do meetings / Training for capacity building among street vendors for group Management, Aware street vendors about Various Govt. schemes for the community and how to avail benefits from those schemes as their rights, Meeting with Municipal Commissioner, CMMUs of SULM, ID Card Printer and Street Vendors organisations for issuing of ID cards to street vendors and TVC meeting, Nurture leadership abilities in the Federations and Capacity Building of community leaders co-ordination between the various field offices of the departments of the State Government which are carrying out the street vendors programmes.

Ajit Kumar
Project Coordinator, DELHI
Ajit Kumar has been working in NASVI. Ajit has 5 years of work experience in the Telecom sector in sales and marketing positions. Ajit is responsible for coordinating and Liasoning with the Government department and Municipal bodies for street vendors’ livelihood programs and implementation of the Street Vending Act. He is responsible for Training like The Street Vendors Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending Act 2014, and the National Policy on Street Vending.

Gurunath Sawant
State Coordinator
Gurunath Sawant has been working in the social sector for the last 10 years. He has completed a Master Degree in Political Science from the University of Mumbai in 2004. He also completed PG Diploma in Journalism from Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh.
In NASVI he is responsible for coordinating with Government Departments, Local Self-Bodies and state-level street vendor organizations of Maharashtra State for better implementation of Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 and various Governments’ Schemes of Street Vendors.

Raushan Kumar Chaudhary
City Manager
Raushan has an Overall working experience of 12 Years in managing projects across various social and rural themes like- the protection of child rights, rescue of child labour restoration and reintegration under the child line project. He has worked for urban women for their holistic development like participation in decision making, developing their saving skills with linkages with self-help groups and participation in decision making with Nagar Parishad or Municipal Corporation for their social up liftmen under the SPUR project. He is associated with NASVI for the previous 3 years as a City manager working for Street Vendors and responsible for several activities.
