A state-level workshop on the empowerment of street vendors was organised in Patna, bringing together municipal leaders, financial institutions, and vendor representatives. The workshop focused on key issues such as vending zones, access to government schemes, credit support, and strengthening vendor livelihoods.
Key highlights included the release of the “Street Vendors in Bihar” booklet, the relaunch of the “Footpath Ki Awaaz” newsletter after 11 years, and information about tools such as the Street Sarathi app and the PM SVANidhi scheme. The discussions reinforced the need for stronger implementation and support systems to ensure dignity and sustainable livelihoods for street vendors.
