A virtual meeting was organized with street vendor representatives from the North East to discuss the ongoing issues of eviction and displacement faced by vendors. The meeting led to constructive discussions on identifying sustainable and long-term solutions.
During the meeting, it was decided to formally approach the concerned urban local bodies through written communication to demand the development of designated vending zones. This step aims to ensure that street vendors are not displaced and are able to earn their livelihoods with dignity and security.
