On 20 February 2025 Street vendors in the Khazanchi Road (Tara Mandal) area of Patna protested against the alleged eviction without prior notice by municipal authorities. Many street vendors were forcibly removed, and their goods were seized, despite existing legal protections under the Street Vendors Act 2014. The Maurya Lok Footpath Dukandar Sangh has strongly opposed this action, demanding a written resolution for their rehabilitation before any further removal. The vendors assert that they will not vacate the area as their livelihood has been affected by this action.
