On 30th August 2025, the Nagar Palika of Mussoorie officially dissolved the inactive Town Vending Committee (TVC) and announced the formation of a new, legally recognized TVC. This significant step comes after NASVI’s continuous intervention against the removal of nearly 200 street vendors from Mussoorie Mall Road.

During the meeting convened by the Nagar Palika, it was decided that:

  • A comprehensive survey and identification process of eligible street vendors will be carried out within 15–20 days.
  • Vendors will be required to provide Aadhaar-linked identity, address proof, and vending-related documents.
  • Mall Road has been declared a vending zone, ensuring vendors’ rights to livelihood are safeguarded while also maintaining the city’s cleanliness and order.
  • The new TVC will hold regular monthly meetings to address vendors’ issues and monitor progress.

A NASVI representative participated in the meeting, providing crucial information about TVCs and ensuring that street vendors’ concerns were properly presented. This development marks a crucial victory for street vendors in Mussoorie, reinforcing their right to work with dignity and legal protection.
