Empowering Street Vendors through E-Cooking

Street vendors are the lifeline of our cities – from the morning tea that energizes millions to the hot momos that satisfy hunger across busy markets. At NASVI, with the support of Finnovista and Shell Foundation, we are working to transform their lives by promoting the adoption of e-cooking solutions.

Why E-Cooking?

E-cooking is more than just a switch from gas to electricity. It is about:

  • Reducing daily expenses with lower energy costs compared to LPG.
  • Creating a safer and cleaner cooking environment with less heat and no smoke.
  • Saving time through faster and more efficient cooking.
  • Expanding menu options for vendors, helping them serve more customers.
  • Reducing carbon emissions, contributing to a healthier planet.

Stories of Change

  • Sudha, a vendor and mother, found that e-cooking is cheaper than gas and safe enough for her children to use. She now cooks more dishes for her family and customers while saving both time and money.
  • Deepak from Madhu Vihar, who runs a tea stall, has completely replaced gas with e-cooking. He finds it easy to handle, simple to clean, and efficient — allowing him to serve faster and keep his customers happy.

And these are not isolated stories. Across communities, street vendors are discovering the benefits of e-cooking. They are running their businesses more efficiently, keeping their kitchens cooler and cleaner, and contributing to the fight against climate change.

Our Commitment

At NASVI, we believe that empowering street vendors with sustainable solutions is the key to building stronger, healthier communities. Through training, awareness campaigns, and support programs, we are ensuring that vendors are not left behind in the transition to clean energy.

Together with Finnovista and Shell Foundation, we are not just promoting e-cooking — we are transforming lives and protecting the environment.
