Street Vendors Response on Finance Minister loan scheme.
They Said ‘How can we repay the Loan?’ Even though we are already under Loan from last 3 months due to lockdown because of COVID-19 Pandemic.
If Goverment really want to Help or restoring the livelihoods of street vendors, they should change the decision and convert this credit support into ‘Grant’
Street vendors proved themselves as a real warriors, they served a lot and now serving in Covid-19 pandemic crisis. We appreciate the announcement of Finance Minister to provide credit of Rs 10K to 50 lakhs Street vendors. However, in this situation vendors needs a grant of such a small amount. If government really think to help in restoring the livelihoods of street vendors, they should change the decision and convert this credit support into grant. Also allow to all types of vending activities followed with social distancing norms. It could be week wise, time sharing basis, zone wise.
