On 20th September 2025, Bageshwar Municipal Hall hosted a special gathering of 120 street vendors and officials under the banner of the Lok Kalyan Mela 2025.
Chairperson Suresh Khetwal encouraged vendors to maintain cleanliness, promote “Wonder Zones,” and take maximum benefit of the loan facilities available through the PM SVANidhi Scheme.
City Manager Urmila Bisht explained the revamped scheme, highlighting loan slabs of ₹15,000, ₹20,000, and ₹50,000, along with features such as credit cards and QR codes for smooth digital transactions.
Officials from the Women & Child Development Department, Labour Department, Banks, and Police also guided vendors on the various forms of support available to strengthen their livelihoods.
The event marked a meaningful step toward empowering street vendors with financial access, digital inclusion, and community support.
