Sarnath (Varanasi) recently hosted a special event under the PM SVANidhi Yojana, along with eight other welfare schemes, dedicated to strengthening the livelihoods of street vendors.
Street vendors received valuable legal and financial guidance from Ms. Isha Kalia (IAS), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India.
The scheme has been relaunched with enhanced loan slabs of ₹15,000, ₹25,000, and ₹50,000, ensuring greater financial support and empowerment for vendors.
As part of the celebration, a grand welcome ceremony was organized with the presentation of the National Ashoka Pillar, led by Shri Rishi Narayan, State President, Street Vendor Seva Samiti, along with vendor representatives.
This impactful event was successfully conducted under the leadership of the Varanasi Municipal Corporation and DUDA, marking another step forward in uplifting street vendor communities.
