The National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) has successfully conducted, and continues to carry out, comprehensive street vendor surveys across all three zones of Rishikesh, in accordance with the directions of the Hon’ble Municipal Commissioner.
These surveys are being undertaken to ensure accurate identification of street vendors and to strengthen transparency in the process. A third-party verification mechanism has been introduced to maintain fairness, prevent exclusions, and safeguard the livelihoods of genuine street vendors.

The initiative reflects NASVI’s continued commitment to protecting the Right to Livelihood of street vendors while supporting urban governance through structured, inclusive, and transparent processes. By working closely with local authorities, NASVI aims to create a more secure and dignified environment for street vendors in Rishikesh.
This ongoing effort is a significant step toward inclusive urban development and sustainable livelihoods for street vendors across the city.
