NASVI demands the earliest implementation of National Policy in Rajasthan

On October 9, 2009, a rally was organised in Jaipur to demand the State Government to implement the National policy for street vendors. More than 500 street vendors from different parts of Rajasthan participated in the rally. The rally started from Shaheed Samarak M.I. road,Jaipur and went up to  the residence of Chief Minister Mr Ashok Gehlot.   A delegation from NASVI and SEWA met the Chief Minister and gave a memorandum to implement the National Policy in Rajasthan at the earliest. The Chief Minister told the delegates that Government of Rajasthan drafted a State policy for street vendors, which is yet to be ratified by the parliamentarians.
October 10, 2009, a delegation from NASVI met Mr. Shanti Dhaliwal, Minister for Urban Development. He assured that National Policy for Street Vendors would be taken forward.
