NASVI delegation consisting of Coordinator Shri.Arbind Singh, Program Manager Shri.Mukut Sarma and several vendor organization leaders met Hon’ble Delhi Chief Minister Dr. Sheila Dixit on 29th July at her residence in order to discuss the ongoing eviction of street vendors in the pretext of the Commonwealth Games in the capital. During the discussion she said that she is very much aware of their problem and she wants a standard solution of the problems of the street vendors in the capital. She is willing to settle them by providing them beautiful kiosk. She informed the delegation that the current eviction by police is because of the security reasons and the problem is temporary. She promised that soon after the inauguration of the Commonwealth Games she will initiate a policy on street vendors for Delhi and will form an expert committee to look after this issue. She wants to stop the collection of money by police and MCD and bring some regulation.

NASVI requested her not to evict vendors because of security reasons and instead integrate them with the game. She told to submit a list of market for consideration and promised that soon she will revert back to NASVI on this matter.

NASVI submitted her list of already evicted markets and requested her to take action on this.
